Warm-up

Let's talk about life online.

  1. What is the first app you open in the morning?
  2. Do you post photos online? Who can see them?
  3. How many passwords do you have, do you think?

Grammar rule

The first conditional

if + present, will + verb

Example
If first (with a comma)If you post a photo, people will see it.
If second (no comma)People will see it if you post a photo.
NegativeIf you don't check your settings, strangers will see your posts.
QuestionWhat will an employer find if they search for you?

Use it for something that can really happen in the future, and its result.

After if, use the present, not will: not If you will post….
In the result part, you can also use can, should or an order: If you post a photo, people can save it. If you get a strange email, don't open it.

Teach it live with video and a whiteboard, or print it: the PDF has every slide, the homework and the answers.
