Warm-up

Let's talk about homes.

  1. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
  2. What is your favorite room in your home? Why?
  3. What does your dream home look like?

Grammar rule

Comparatives

Comparing two things

AdjectiveComparative
short (one syllable): small, cheap, hardsmaller, cheaper, harder
short, ends in -e: nice, closenicer, closer
short, one vowel + one consonant: big, hotbigger, hotter
ends in -y: easy, happyeasier, happier
long: expensive, comfortablemore expensive, more comfortable
good, badbetter, worse

Use than before the second thing: A tiny home is cheaper than a normal house.

Use -er or more, never both: not more cheaper, not more better.

Teach it live with video and a whiteboard, or print it: the PDF has every slide, the homework and the answers.
