Warm-up

Before we look back at the last three units:

  1. Would you like to work on a boat for a week?
  2. What is the most beautiful place near your home?
  3. What are you doing this week that is different from a normal week?

UnitGrammarExample
4comparatives, and as … asThe water is colder than at home. The waves are much bigger. It isn't as warm as at home.
5superlativesIt was the best day of the trip. Lake Superior is the biggest lake in North America.
6the present simple (habits) and the present continuous (now)Usually, we work from six to six, but today we're taking a break.
Three things to watch: -er or more, never both (not more bigger); the before a superlative (not biggest lake); and the continuous for actions happening now or around now (this week), but not with verbs like know and want (not I am knowing).
