Warm-up

Before we look back at unit 1:

  1. How often do you go away for a weekend? Where do you go?
  2. What was in your bag on your last trip? Did you forget anything?
  3. What is more important on a trip for you: good food or a nice room? Why?

LessonGrammarExample
1irregular past forms: went, saw, tookWe left at six and got to the coast at noon.
2Did…? and didn't + the base verbDid you pack the map? No, I didn't pack it.
3one negative wordThere was no signal. = There wasn't any signal.
4much, many, a lot ofHow many nights? How much gas? We had a lot of sun.
5comparativesThe bus was slower than the train, but the seats were wider and more modern.
Five things to watch: no -ed on irregular verbs (not drived), the base verb after did (not Did you packed?), one negative (not wasn't no signal), much with uncountable nouns (not How many gas?), and -er or more, not both (not more slower).

Teach it live with video and a whiteboard, or print it: the PDF has every slide, the homework and the answers.
