Grammar rule

have to

have to / has to + the base form = it is necessary

Example
PositiveVets have to pass an exam. A vet has to know a lot.
NegativeShe doesn't have to wear a suit. (= it isn't necessary; she can choose)
QuestionDo vets have to work at night? — Yes, they do. / No, they don't.
PastWe had to give him medicine.

I, you, we, they → have to · he, she, it → has to · Questions and negatives use do / does / don't / doesn't, like other verbs.

Remember: don't have to means it isn't necessary. It does not mean "don't do it!" You will learn more, with must not and can't, in the grammar lesson.

Teach it live with video and a whiteboard, or print it: the PDF has every slide, the homework and the answers.
