Warm-up

Let's talk about people.

  1. Who is your best friend?
  2. Is your best friend funny or quiet?
  3. Who in your family is very tall?

Grammar rule

Me, him, her, them

before the verbIyouhesheitwethey
after the verbmeyouhimheritusthem
  • after a verb: Everyone loves him. We all like her. Come and visit me!
  • after with, for, to: I have lunch with her. Wait for us! Talk to them!
Not I like she or with he: after the verb, use me, him, her, us, them.
In a question, is or does comes before the person, and he, she and they stay the same: Is he funny? What is she like? Does she have glasses?

Two questions

  • What does she look like? — She is tall, and she has curly hair. (her hair, face and body)
  • What is she like? — She's friendly and funny. (the person)
