Grammar rule

The present simple

For things we do every day, or many times

I / you / we / theyhe / she / it
I get up at 7:30.She gets up at 3:30.
We take the bus.He takes the bus.
They cook dinner.Marta cooks dinner.

Spelling: he, she, it

  • most verbs: + s → gets, takes, cooks, sleeps
  • after s, sh, ch, x and o: + es → washes, fixes, goes, does
  • consonant + y: y → ies (carry → carries)
  • have → has: She has lunch at 11:00.
Don't forget the -s: She works at a bakery (not She work).

Teach it live with video and a whiteboard, or print it: the PDF has every slide, the homework and the answers.
